With more than 23 years of distinguished service in law enforcement, Captain Yesenia Carde currently serves as Commander of the Special Operations Division at the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. In this capacity, she leads a dynamic team responsible for Narcotics Investigations in partnership with the DEA Task Force, as well as the agency’s specialized and robust units including Marine Unit, Aviation Unit, Training Unit, Bomb Disposal Unit, and Dive Team.
Captain Carde began her career in the Criminal Investigation Division in 2006, where she investigated some of the county’s most complex and sensitive cases. She was promoted to Sergeant in 2014, serving in Road Patrol before returning to the Criminal Investigations Division. In 2017, she advanced to Lieutenant, overseeing Road Patrol, School Resource, and Community Operations. Two years later, she returned once again to the Criminal Investigations Division, where she supervised detectives, directed complex investigations, and managed specialized operations including the Real Time Crime Center, the South Florida Criminal Apprehension Team Task Force, and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Task Force.
Captain Carde holds a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. She is an active member of several professional organizations and is committed to advancing public safety through innovation and technology while upholding the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and service to the Martin County community. Captain Carde views her career in law enforcement as a calling, work guided by faith and devoted to service. She is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of her children and grandchildren, whose encouragement continues to inspire her dedication to this profession.
