Christine Christofek Weiss has been with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office since 2013, when she joined Martin County’s newly elected Sheriff, William Snyder, to become the Agency’s Public Information Officer.

Christine is a former television news reporter for WPTV, a local NBC affiliate.  She spent 17-years with the network affiliate where she served in a number of media positions; such as a Field Producer, Line Producer, Investigative Producer, General Assignment Reporter, Crime and Courts Reporter, and Treasure Coast Reporter.  Christine left television news to take a position as the Director of Media and Advertising for the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County.  For 13-years, she specialized in environmental advertising and promotions, producing and appearing in multiple television and print advertisements.  She produced and hosted an environmental awareness TV Special which earned her two Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.  She is also the former host of the long running South Florida Business Report, which aired on WPEC News 12, the local CBS Affiliate.

In addition to being a sworn reserve Deputy Sheriff, Christine has a bachelor’s degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and has earned a specialized training in crisis negotiations, mediation and hostage negotiations.
