Guidelines
Florida State Statute 951.22 prohibits the provision, or receipt of contraband articles to or from any inmate, or to introduce or possess contraband upon the grounds of the county detention facility. Any violation of this statute is guilty of a felony of the third degree.
Bond Information
Bonds may be paid via money orders or cashiers checks in lieu of cash bonds or using a bondsperson. We do not accept cash for bonds.
Subsistence Fees/Medical Co-Pay Guidelines
To defray costs, the Martin County Sheriff's Office Corrections Department initiated a Subsistence Fee Program and Medical Co-Pay Program.
The State Legislature has found that there is an urgent need to alleviate the increasing financial burden on local subdivisions of the state caused by the expenses of incarcerating prisoners.
Florida State Statute allows for the collections of all, or a fair portion of daily subsistence and reimbursement for expenses incurred in providing medical care, treatment, hospitalization, or transportation from the inmate receiving the service. All inmates shall receive the same level of care regardless of their ability to pay.
Inmate Property/Money Release Guidelines
Transfer of property or money between inmates is forbidden. When necessary, inmates may release personal property from the facility to a friend/family member by completing a "Property Release" form, "Money Release Request" or "Money Transfer Request" at least 24 hours in advance. If an inmate has a debt (i.e, medical fees, subsistence fees, etc.), money shall not be released until the debt is satisfied. Only one property/money release is permitted per incarceration.
